IofC Canada holds a virtual AGM

 

IofC Canada’s 2017 Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held as a virtual meeting on Saturday June 17. This year’s AGM was attended by 31 members who were able to join either by telephone or computer link, while 18 members submitted proxies.

 

The results of the AGM items on the agenda were as follows:  

  • IofC Members who passed away during the year were remembered
  • Minutes of the last AGM held on June 4, 2016 were approved, as well as the minutes for the special meeting on July 23, 2016.
  • Karen Bambonye (Ottawa), who is completing her 1-year term, and Mercy Okalowe (Toronto) were elected for a 3-year term to join the five continuing directors, for a total of seven directors.
  • Lucie Pagé was appointed as 2018 Nominations Committee Chair. 2016 Audited Financial Statements were approved with a slight amendment, and our current auditor was approved for next year.
  • Karen Bambonye, Lucie Pagé, Aron Tegenfeldt and Arber Fetiu were appointed as the Caux Committee (which oversees the restricted funds earmarked for Caux-related expenses).
  • Reports on the Archives Development project and on Communications were presented.
  • Discussions were held on the current financial situation and future directions of IofC Canada, as well as the consultation meeting planned for Sept 23/24, 2017.

More news about the discussions among members and the decisions by the Board related to staff and the financial situation will be sent to members in early July.
