Caux InternsCallout to Canada’s Young People

Nearly every year since 1946, over 1300 participants from all over the world gather in Caux, Switzerland, attending one of the Initiatives of Change (IofC) international conferences held during the summer. A unique characteristic of these conferences is the community life. Participants are invited to join communities of between 12 and 20 people where general topics are discussed in an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect. These groups also take part in the running of the house (dining-room service, vegetable preparation, cooking, housekeeping, etc.). The conferences always include plenaries, seminars, lectures and cultural evenings, with simultaneous translation.  For more information, visit

Caux Scholars Program

The Caux Scholars Program aims to enable 20 people from around the world every year to become trust builders in their communities through experiential education in conflict transformation and principled leadership.

Content of the program: Applied Studies in peacemaking. The four weeks will hold approximately 40 hours of academic classes, six to seven hours per week of 'Service for Leadership' practical work, a field trip to Geneva and full participation in the Caux conferences.

Requirement: Must be between the ages of 21 and 35

Caux Interns Leadership Program

The Caux Interns Leadership Program is an opportunity for young people to experience the full richness of the Caux conference centre: to contribute their service to the conferences, and through the training program to engage with what it means to offer leadership for this century.

Requirement: Applicants must be at least 18 years old by June 2016 but no more than 30 years, and with a good command of English and preferably another language.

All individuals who are interested in being part in one of the Caux programs must complete and submit their application by the specified deadline. We understand that funding may be an issue for some individuals. Once you have received your acceptance letter in one of the programs, you can apply before April 30, 2016 for funding that may help cover part of the costs.
