Friends of IofC Toronto met together to view the new film

The Man Who Built Peace – The Frank Buchman Story.

The Man Who Built Peace captures the life and peace-making legacy of a man you may never have heard of – and who changed the world. Following a personal experience of transformation, Frank Buchman set out to pass on that experience to the world and helped shape the course of history. He was a revolutionary thinker and leader whose trust-building, reconciliation and peace efforts greatly influenced the 20th century. His vision and legacy are a powerful answer to the growing mistrust, injustice and extremism facing the world today.

Imelda Walker writes: We met today to view the film “The Man Who Built Peace – The Life of Frank Buchman”, and to meet a young newcomer to Canada, Tashi Tenzin, who was born in Tibet but moved to India as a child with his family. Tashi completed a five-month internship at Asia Plateau, the IofC Conference and Training Centre, and found deep change through family reconciliation. He now lives in Toronto.

We all thought the video was inspiring and historically excellent. I believe the DVD is a very valuable tool for showing to a group – an introduction to a God-led man and his message of personal transformation. Hopefully the message could capture the hearts and minds of men and women ready for the challenge of how to change the world, starting with one's self. We felt the need for an IofC video bringing attention, with a fresh hope, to the moral and spiritual need of remaking the world today in terms and language that could challenge society, and especially the young, through personal change.

It was good to hear from Tashi of the several new teams going out to various parts of India with the IofC message, and reference was made of the effective courses taught at Asia Plateau as recorded in Suresh Khatri’s book Beyond Walls - Through Initiatives of Change
