Trust around the world is diminishing and we are seeing the consequences. Wider communities are facing challenges that include racial and interracial divides, intergenerational conflict, anger and a rise in extremist attitudes, as well as post-war and social divides.

Who Are We?

Initiatives of Change (IofC) is a global movement of people of diverse cultures and backgrounds, who are committed to the transformation of society through changes in human motives and behavior, starting with their own. Present in Canada since 1944, Initiatives of Change Canada has a well rooted team in Québec, working in collaboration with other organizations whose missions are similar.

Based on taking time for personal introspection and awareness, IofC’s goal is to implement deep personal and social transformations. The four values which are foundational for this change are Honesty, Integrity, Altruism, and Love.

Our Project

This project focuses on training and providing a transformational experience to community leaders from diverse sectors, allowing them to develop their skills in order to work on divides within their respective communities. This program will help individuals overcome personal barriers in order to better facilitate necessary conversations, particularly difficult ones.

What Can You Do?

Everyone is invited to attend an information session where members of the international, national and local teams will present the project in more detail, giving you a taste of the experience.

We welcome anyone interested in bridging divides and inequities among four important groups within Quebec’s society; First Nations, French Canadians, English Canadians, and Immigrants.

Join Us on Saturday, October 5th at 9:00 AM at the Auditorium Institut pastoral des Dominicains - 2715 Chemin de la Côte-Sainte-Catherine, Montréal, QC H3T 1B6
