Mangalam Lena graduates from the Canadian Institute of Conflict Resolution

It is with both pride and pleasure that we share with you the graduation of Mangalam Lena from the Transforming Conflict - Cultivating Peace Certificate program offered through the Canadian Institute for Conflict Resolution. Mangalam is a current co-chair of IofC Canada and is collaborating on many other IofC projects in Canada and internationally.

Through four courses over four separate weeks of training Mangalam has further developed her capacity in conciliation, mediation, facilitation of groups in conflict, and designing conflict interventions. She now qualifies to be an impartial and independent professional ‘Third Party Neutral’ (TPN).

She has been trained to help two or more conflicting parties resolve a dispute or plan a transaction, without representing any of them. The primary goal of a TPN is to facilitate communication and assist the parties in reaching a mutually acceptable solution, rather than imposing a decision or advocating for one side.

This program is designed to strengthen one’s capacity as a leader and practitioner to choose appropriate responses when dealing with escalated emotions, difficult behaviours, uncomfortable conversations or tense situations in the context of ongoing challenges, changes, and growth.

Mangalam now looks forward to continuing her practicum and living by the values and principles we hold dear. Her passion is healing mediation – forgiveness and conciliation. This certificate adds to her qualification of being a Doctor of Ministry.
