Four of the participants in the Trustbuilding workshop in Calgary

Eleven women and men gathered in Calgary for a 4-day intensive training in trustbuilding facilitation under the tutelage of Richmond, Virginia’s Cricket White. The participants (3 men and 8women—from Calgary, Edmonton, Surrey, BC, and Toronto, Ontario), represented awide range of experiences through local initiatives and/or international workaimed at bringing people together to build trust at many levels.

The ripple effect of reconciliation and healing spread by celebrated Nigerian peacemakers Imam Muhammad Ashafa and Pastor James Wuye, reached Canada’s capital city, Ottawa at the recent Canadian premiere of An African Answer co-hosted by Initiatives of Change, Canada and the High Commission of Nigeria in Canada.

Benoît Charlebois

Benoît Charlebois from Montreal, Quebec has been appointed the new Managing Director for Initiatives of Change Canada for an initial period of 2 years. Based on Benoît’s growing knowledge and experience of IofC during the past 25 years, including two visits to Caux, serving as Chair of the Council of Management in 2009 and Vice Chair in 2010, the Council agreed that Benoît was the right person to work with us in developing and implementing our policies and programs. Hope in the Cities -  Edmonton visit

October 17th Along with many local community groups and leaders Rob Corcoran took part in a lively discussion on the possibilities of building new relationships, healing hurts and providing opportunities to build trust.
